On 27th April 2024, UEMS Members have unanimously adopted the updated European Training Requirements in Emergency medicine during the UEMS Spring Council.

These ETR are the product of exchanges between the Section of Emergency medicine and the other UEMS bodies and collaborative work with the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EUSEM), and further, of exchanges between the Section of Emergency medicine and the other UEMS bodies, notably to clear potential overlaps with other medical specialties.

The first ETRs in Emergency medicine were adopted in 2019. Medical specialists being disciplines on constant evolution, as much as evolve training practices evolve, the UEMS Section of Emergency medicine has worked on updating these ETRs to reflect the most up-to-date requirements in the training of specialists in emergency medicine.

Following presentation of this thorough updating work, the full members of the UEMS were invited to vote on this new document, and unanimously adopted it.
